Compact Discs (CD) date from around 1977 and can store 700MB
Digital Versatile Discs or Digital Video Discs (DVD) date from around 1995 and can store around 8.5 GB
Secure Digital (SD) cards date from around 2006 and can store up to 32 GB. (And getting bigger all the time!)
